Frequently Asked Questions
Your teeth are one of the most important parts of your body. You will need them for a long time. So it’s natural we get a lot of questions. Below are some of the ones we get the most.
Q: Does Invisalign really work?
Yes. In both clinical research and in orthodontic and dental practices nationwide, Invisalign has been proven effective at straightening teeth.
Q: Are crowns a factor in treatment?
No, crowns are usually not a factor in Invisalign treatment. However, sometimes small composites called attachments are bonded to teeth to help achieve certain movements. In these cases, the location of crowns must be carefully evaluated by our certified doctors.
Q: What do aligners look like?
Aligners are nearly invisible and look similar to clear teeth-whitening trays, but are custom made for a better fit to move teeth. Some orthodontists and dentists have referred to them as “contact lenses for teeth.”
Q: Has the FDA cleared Invisalign?
Yes, the FDA has reviewed our application and in August 1998 determined that Invisalign is exempt from 501(k) pre-market notification.
Q: How do I get started with Invisalign?
Simply make an appointment with one of our certified doctors for a FREE initial consultation. We have several locations throughout the city.
Q: Will TMJ affect Invisalign treatment?
TMJ refers to temporomandibular or jaw joint. Individuals can have number of problems with the jaw joint, some of which can be aggravated by appliances and treatment such as Invisalign. To find out if your TMJ will adversely affect dental treatment, consult with one of our Invisalign certified doctors.
Q: What are the benefits of Invisalign?
There are four (4) primary benefits of Invisalign:
- Invisalign is nearly invisible – you can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing.
- Invisalign is removable – you can eat and drink what you want in treatment; you can also brush and floss normally to maintain good oral hygiene.
- Invisalign is comfortable – there are no metal wires or brackets to cause mouth irritation which also means less time in the doctor’s chair getting adjustments.
- Invisalign is high-tech – you can view your own treatment plan before you start and see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.
Q: How much does Clear Choice Orthodontics charge for Invisalign treatment?
Because we are the recognized leaders in the USA, we could set higher fees than others. One of the reason that we have so many more Invisalign patients than others is that we have a strong sense of fairness. The other factor is that our experience lets us know before starting your work, how hard it is, and how much we should charged based on the work. Especially with Invisalign, we have found that doctors do not know how hard the work is due to their lack of experience. This can lead to fees quoted to you that are too high (because they are fearful of how hard the case is) or too low (because they do not know how hard it is – and in that case, to be frank, you are at risk that they cannot actually do the treatment that you want at any price)
Because of these factors your first exam visit will be free. We will fully explain how hard or easy your treatment will be and how long it should take. Then we give a unique fee to your treatment – to be both fair and expert in our care. Don’t let the fear of cost keep you from checking into your specific needs. We have many options and will work with you. We are committed to providing high quality care offer multiple payment plans including no down payment plans with monthly payments of about $100 when needed.
